Overview
Full 20-opening impact package on a home in Doral, managed entirely in Spanish from estimate through permit closeout, eliminating aging accordion shutters and upgrading to permanent impact protection.
The Challenge
The homeowners — a Colombian family who purchased the home in 2017 — had inherited an accordion shutter system with a damaged track on the main patio opening. They preferred a full upgrade over a partial shutter repair, and wanted the entire process handled in Spanish: consultation, contract, permit communication, and final walkthrough.
Our Solution
The project was managed entirely in Spanish by our bilingual team. Mr Glass impact French doors replaced the existing patio slider on the main living area, adding a classic look while meeting Miami-Dade's NOA requirement. Single-hung and picture impact windows replaced all 18 remaining openings. Accordion shutter tracks were removed as part of the installation. City of Doral permit approved in 19 days.
The Result
The home has full Miami-Dade NOA-compliant impact protection across all 20 openings. Annual insurance premium reduced from $5,600 to $3,700 — a 34% reduction saving $1,900/year. The French door upgrade opened significant natural light to the main living area.
